HER. HEAL. EMPOWER. RESTORE.

It's been a while since I've written on my blog. The business of writing this book has been quite a journey and I have many people to thank for support and encouragement.

There is so much more to writing a book than writing a book.  Although writing the book is great!  I think everyone should write one.  300 words per day for 30 days and you have a book.  If you have a story, tell it.  If you write poetry, share it.  Writing is therapeutic.

When I started writing my first novel, Seasons of Hope, I didn't have a clue of how it would turn out.  I just began writing as therapy for myself.  To help grasp some situations that I was dealing with.  Then it just morphed into this exciting story!  I'm excited and happy about the way it turned out and the message that it sends.  A message of Hope.  A message of Healing, Empowerment and Restoration.

The Book Writing Business is a bit complicated and many people are taken advantage of by some of the so-called publishers.  All a publisher really does is print books for you to purchase from them. That's basically it.  

 I cancelled my "contract" with my publisher and the files they sent with the final edits were so encrypted that I could not use them. Not only that, they said no one ever bought a book and I never got a royalty report. I use the term "contract" loosely because according to my understanding, there was never any real contract.  More on this later.

So... Yes, I know that there were still some errors but I hope you read past them and enjoy the story just the same.

My friends have helped me realize that I need help and have offered assistance so...we're moving forward.

The best thing about self publishing is that I can go edit, change covers, order 1 copy or 10-000 copies

And joining and being a part of the National Writers Association is a big plus. Protect your work.  I know people have been stealing my ideas for years.  But they were just ideas and what's for me is for me.

And my ex publisher has not heard the last from me.
